FAQs
Q. Are there different levels like basic, intermediate or advance Montessori Phonics syllabus?
ANS: Montessori Phonics is a continuous running course that does not breakdown into basic, intermediate or advance levels. Instead, each child will be closely monitored for progress, and will be taught more challenging phonetic words in a structured and progressively manner.
Q. How would I know my child's progress?
ANS: Your child will be taught using sensorial action in a fun filled learning environment. He/She will be closely monitored on his/her assimilation & understanding of the concepts taught. At the end of each lesson, there will be a feedback to the parents.
Q. How long the course would lasts?
ANS: Based on past experience, usually from 5 months onwards. A lot depends on your child's abilities to assimilate the concepts taught. You play an important part as well as to encourage the child to go through the learning with you, as well as to reinforce learned activities. When you show an interest in you child's reading, his/her confidence and interest to read would be a natural part of his repertoire.
Q. Would Community Club reserve a place for my child once I pay the first month's fees for every new block of lessons?
ANS: The fees will only cover for a block of 4 lessons, rather than on a monthly basis. At the end of each block, you must re-register for your child's place. You should try to pay for the next block of 4 lessons at the 3rd lesson of the current block.
Q. What happens if my child missed a lesson?
ANS: Please inform the phonics teacher in advance. A makeup lesson will be scheduled for your child.
Q. Can I still sign up for my child if the class has already started?
ANS: If the class has already started for one lesson, you can sign up. A makeup lesson will be done for the first lesson missed. If the class is already the second lesson, sign up for the next block of 4 lessons.
